Life’s A Beach, Or Three, In Los Cristianos Every holiday maker loves a beach, whether it’s for sun bathing, making sand castles, or parting the waves for a cooling swim. Los Cristianos has three very different beaches all within a short walk from Hotel Paradise Park.
Starting from the eastern side that stretches to the foot of Guaza Mountain, Los Tarajales remains unspoilt by human intervention, rugged and basic there are still several old houses near the shore. Walking back from the Sunday Market many people stop to admire the majestic turns of the inter island ferries.
Next along is Los Cristianos beach with its dark flat sand , the sea shelves out gently here and to the west side the quay separates it from the port where fishing boats still land their catch. Many traditional fiestas and dances are celebrated around this beach and a Thursday evening craft fair offers cheeses, jams, breadsand other local produce during the winter months.
Through the tunnel Las Vistas beach awaits, an 862 metre crescent of golden imported sand. Built in the late 1980’s this is a family favourite with every facility on offer, sun beds and shades, jet skis and banana boats, and bars and restaurants just a couple of steps away from the sand. The European Union blue flag for water quality has flown proudly for years and there are disabled changing rooms, roll out walkways, and amphibian wheelchairs to make sure everyone can enjoy the sea.
