Canarian Cooks Championship

The Cabildo has launched the sixth edition of the Regional Cooks Championship "Tenerife 2010", the deadline for registration opened Saturday 27th february. The contest takes place from 19 to 21 April 2010, at the International Center of Fairs and Congresses of Tenerife.
The deadline to enter the contest is March 26.
One of the main objectives of this competition is to promote the creativity of professionals with an event that throughout its previous editions has had the participation of leading professionals. The championship looks for chefs and cooks with a high level and want to prove themselves.
The event will have regional and absolute class, so all professional cooks and island residents can participate. The winners will be able to represent the Islands in Tenerife and other tournaments and competitions nationally and internationally.
The chefs will prepare a compulsory dish and the main ingredient will be rabbit, one of the most used meats in the traditional Canarian cuisine. The other dish is a free choice, and may not be a dessert.
The organization has established a prize of 1,500 euros for the winning chef while the second and third place will receive 1,000 and 600 euros respectively. A single award for best kitchen aid will also be given, amounting to 500 euros.
