New connection, Tenerife-Lithuania

A new flight, operated by the tour operator Star Holidays, will join this week Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, with Tenerife. The island received in 2009 93% of tourist arrivals from that country.

The route will start on Thursday 25, it will run weekly and initially for two months. The forecast of Lithuanian Star Holidays tour operator is that in the month of October it resumes with annual frequency. The flight, which will have a capacity of 142 seats, will reach the airport in the South, but will also scale in Gran Canaria.

The new flight is an addition to the promotion of the island through Turismo de Tenerife, held in Lithuania in May. Like last year, in collaboration with the travel magazine of the Baltic country "Stand by", a series of presentations of the tourist attractions of the island to the main travel agencies in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia will be done.

The total number of Lithuanian passengers arriving in Tenerife in 2009 amounted to 5,600, which represented an increase of 1% over the previous year.
