Los Cristianos is brimming with traditional Canarian food and crafts but there is always room for new experiences and you don’t need to stray far from
Hotel Paradise Park to enjoy them.
Next to your favourite family holiday hotel there is the newly opened La Pepa food market up on the roof of the Paserela Oasis commercial centre, open daily from 10 to 10. This has the feel of a real Spanish market with a wide variety of meats, fruits, vegetables, and cheeses, plus other international influences such as a German butchers. There are 21 outlets in total, mainly undercover and a large communal open air terrace to enjoy food and drink from the bars, cafes, and the bakers. There is also a childrens play area to keep the little ones amused.
If you are looking for bargains, the Sunday Market has recently moved from next to the old Las Tarajales beach up hill to Avenida de Londres. Long term visitors will recall how cramped and hot the old site was, now it is spread out over both sides of the sealed off road that is just five minutes from Hotel Paradise Park. Light summer clothes, perfect for the hot Tenerife weather, come in a full range of sizes but without a large price tag. The same goes for children’s novelties, beach toys, shades, bags, watches, electronics and plants. The near 600 stalls have plenty of surprises and the market is open from 9am to 2pm each week.
